Jungle safari in various jungle of Nepal is famous among the tourists. Some of the highest and most magnificent peaks in the world, the tropical jungles of the Terai still preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in the subcontinent. Some of these rich wildlife habitats are now protected and can be toured on elephant back, 4WD, dugout canoe or on foot accompanied by a licensed guide.

Chiwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is the most popular destination from tourists wanting to have a good experience of the region's Wildlife. It was declared a National Park in 1973. In 1984, UNESCO designated Royal Chitwan National Park a Natural World Heritage Site. The Park offers protection to 56 species of mammals including the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, leopard, sloth dear, wild elephant, striped hyena, Gangetic dolphin and wild bison. There are estimated to be 470 species of mammals, over 500 species of birds, 126 species of the fish, 150 species of the butterflies and 47 species of reptiles in the park. A recent study also points out that over a third of Nepal's tigers are in Chitwan.
The park is spread over an area of 932 sq kms and located in the lowlands of the kingdom. The forest cover is predominantly Sal forest, interspersed with tall grasslands, small hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains. The best time to visit Chitwan is from October through February. When the temperature averages 25 degrees Celcius. The months of March, April and June can be extremely hot, while July September is the monsoon season when rivers swell and parts of the park are inaccessible.

This is the last remaining home in Nepal for the Asian One-horned Rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger leopard, verities of deer, sloth bear, Rhesus monkey, Wild boar, Jackals, civets, mongooses, cats and snakes. The rivers and lakes are home to Crocodiles and the Extraordinary Gangetic dolphins. Chitwan is also a Bird-watcher's delight with more than four hundred migrant and local species birds recorded. There are Cormorants, Herons, Egrets, Storks, Cranes, Ducks, Woodpeckers, Hawks, Osprey, Falcons, Kestrel, Parakeets, Ibis, Kites, Ckoos, Kingfishers, Swallows, Orioles, Drongos, Babblers and many others.

How to get Chitwan National Parks ?
You can reach taking tourist bus or private car to chitwan national park from Pokhara or Kathmandu, bus form other part of Nepal to Sauraha chowk and fly to Bharatpur form Kathmandu.

By land: depart form Kathmandu or Pokhara early in the morning for a 5 hour drive via Mugling and the Narayanghat Highway. Reach resort in the time for lunch.

By raft: leave Kathmandu or Pokhara at 7 am and enjoy breakfast in the bank of the Trisuli river before embarking. During the journey you can enjoy high and low water waves and water the surrounding scenery.

By air: there are several flights that can take you to Bharatpur.

Baradiya National Park

Bardia National Park is spread over 968 sq km and located in the western Nepal (Terai). It is undoubtedly the largest and least disturbed wilderness spread in the Teari, and is predominantly Sal forest interspersed with tall grasslands. It is bound on the north by the Chure hills and is skirted on the west by the Geruwa river, a branch of the Karnali which is a major tributary of the best place where your chances of spotting a tiger in Nepal are the highest . Other animals include the rhinoceros, swamp deer, leopard, jungle cats, blue bulls (nilgai), sloth bears, barking deer and langurs. There are a few wild elephant here and one of the males is considered the largest in Asia.
The Geruwa river that rushes in through a break in the hill range, still laden and full with break in the hill range, snowmelt, is home to the famous Mahseer game fish, gharial, mugger crocodile and the freshwater Gangetic dolphin. The park also has cobras, kraits and pythons. The activities here include jungle safari on elephant back, jungle walks, boat rides and jeep drives. The best time to visit the park is from October through March. The month of April June are very hot while July September is monsoon time.

Baradiya National Park is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai which extends from the Churia hills southwards to gentle slopes of the "Bhabhar". It is thickly forested by sal trees , grass lands, savannah and many more forest. Animal like the Rhinoceros , wild elephant , tiger , swamp deer, black duck, gharial crocodile and gigantic dolphin , Bengal florican , Lesser florican , silvered mesia sarus cranes are some of the endangered birds found in the park . How to go Bardia National Park ?

you can fly from Kathmandu to Nepaljung ( about one hour flight). You can go by road from Kathmandu which takes about 16 hours.

By Air: If you choose to fly, there is a daily flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, which is the nearest airport from the Royal Bardia National Park .After flying for about an hour from Kathmandu, you will be received by our naturalist at the Nepalgunj Airport.

By Road: You can reserve a private transport and reach till the hotel or alternatively take overnight or day buses plying on the route of Dhangadi, Mahendranagar or Karnali. Drop at Ambassa ( the gate way of Royal Bardia National Park), which takes 16 hrs. from Kathmandu, 12hrs. from Pokhara 9 hrs from Chitwan.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Tour

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve (175sq km) is set in the flood plain of the Koshi River in the eastern Terai and is a heaven for birds and bird lovers. There are more than 280 species of birds in the reverse and it is also a resting place for migrating birds that can’t be seen elsewhere in Nepal. Mammals that abound here include the wild water buffalo (arna), wild bear, spotted deer and the blue bull.
