It is one of the famous Buddhist stupa on the Nagarjuna Hill which is about 7km. from Kathmandu on western skyline. A motorable road leads through Raniban (Queen forest) to this stupa. It takes about 45 minutes to reach there in motor/jeep while trek is about 5 km. on foot and takes about 2 hours.

Kakani Hill Hiking
It is located 29km northwest of Kathmandu at an elevation of 2002m. The 1½ hr journey from Kathmandu goes up a beautiful scenic road. where you can see a fantastic view of the northwestern Himalayan ranges from Kakani. You can see Ganesh Himal (7,111m), Manaslu (8,163m), Garuishanker (7,134m) and Annapurna I (8,091m).
